What is Toontown Classic?
Toontown Classic is a private server inspired by Toontown Online, created to revive the colorful cartoon world, classic charm, and nostalgic MMO adventure that fans still remember and love.
When did this project start?
Toontown Classic originally started back in 2020 as something I was tinkering with for fun.
Why bring it back now?
I still had old assets, ideas, and project files sitting around, so I figured it was time to put them to use and see where the project could go.
What are your plans with Toontown Classic?
The goal is to bring back the Toontown Online experience as close as possible to how it felt before it closed, while polishing the original look, feel, and gameplay fans remember. This server is focused on preserving that classic TTO style and keeping the nostalgic charm intact.
How did you do all of this yourself?
Toontown Classic is also an experiment to see how far AI can be pushed in game development. The website, server work, and most of the coding have been built with AI assistance, with around 90% of the project being AI-driven.
Why use AI for the project?
The project is not just about bringing back a classic experience. It is also about testing how far modern AI tools can go when building something this large, from development to design.
Is Toontown Classic finished?
Not yet. This is still a work-in-progress project, and I’m not sure how far it will go, but if things go well, they go.
Can people play it yet?
Not at the moment. More information will be shared if the project reaches a playable state.
Will there be updates?
If things continue moving forward, updates may happen over time. For now, the project is being built, tested, and improved as it develops.
Is this an official Disney project?
No. Disney’s Toontown Online is a trademark of its respective owner. Toontown Classic is a fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Disney.
